 1                          SENATE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The members  of  the  Senate  of  the  State  of
 3    Illinois learned with regret of the death of Mary J. Lynch on
 4    April 17, 2003; and

 5        WHEREAS,  Mary J. Lynch was born on October 27, 1948; she
 6    attended Evergreen Park High School, was a graduate of  Stout
 7    State University in 1970, and received her master's degree in
 8    1980 from National College of Education; and

 9        WHEREAS,  She  began  her teaching career in September of
10    1970 at Hillcrest, Oak Forest, and Bremen;  she  married  Tom
11    Lynch  in 1973; she taught in the Family and Consumer Science
12    Department and was named "Teacher of the Year" in  Bremen  in
13    2003; and

14        WHEREAS, Mrs. Lynch became the Park District Commissioner
15    of  Alsip  in  1982; during her 22 years in the position, she
16    oversaw the purchase of property for and the  development  of
17    Fountain  Hills  Golf  Club; other accomplishments during her
18    tenure  include  the  building  of  the  addition  at  Apollo
19    Recreation  Center  and  the  creation  of  numerous   parks,
20    including  a  skate park; walking paths were added throughout
21    the district and Aquatic Park was built;  she  was  a  person
22    dedicated  to  her  job;  she  volunteered  at  many  of  the
23    district's special events, and she will be remembered as Mrs.
24    Claus to the children of the community; and

25        WHEREAS,  The passing of Mary J. Lynch was deeply felt by
26    her community and family, especially her husband, Tom  Lynch,
27    and  her  children,  Timothy,  Tammy,  Tracey,  and  Theresa;
28    therefore, be it

29        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  SENATE  OF  THE  NINETY-THIRD GENERAL
30    ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the  passing
31    of Mary J. Lynch and extend our deepest sympathy to those who

 1    knew and loved her; and be it further

 2        RESOLVED,  That  a  suitable  copy  of this resolution be
 3    presented to the family of Mary J. Lynch as an expression  of
 4    our sincere condolences.
