 1                          SENATE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The members  of  the  Senate  of  the  State  of
 3    Illinois  learned  with  regret  of  the  death of Raymond D.
 4    Heintz of Aurora on May 31, 2003; and

 5        WHEREAS, Raymond D. Heintz was born on September 17, 1927
 6    in Chicago to Clayton and Constance (Govier) Heintz; and

 7        WHEREAS, After graduating from Mt.  Carmel  High  School,
 8    Mr. Heintz became a United States Navy Seabee, serving in the
 9    Pacific during World War II; upon his return from service, he
10    graduated  from  DePaul University and began a 39-year career
11    with Texaco, Inc., working  as  a  sales  representative  and
12    regional  training  supervisor; after his retirement in 1986,
13    he worked  at  Aurora  Central  Catholic  High  School  as  a
14    substitute  teacher and coach for the boys' and girls' tennis
15    teams, acting as head coach of the boys' team  from  1994  to
16    1998 and the girls' team from 1996 to 2002; and

17        WHEREAS,  When  he wasn't coaching tennis, Mr. Heintz was
18    playing it, mostly with the Aurora Tennis Club's  MWF  Senior
19    Group,  where  he  developed  many friendships over the years
20    with others who shared his passion for the game; and

21        WHEREAS, The passing of Raymond D. Heintz has been deeply
22    felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his wife of 48
23    years, Mary Elaine (Anderson)  Heintz;  his  children,  Karen
24    Heintz, Kathleen (David) Makris, Kevin (Marianne) Heintz, and
25    Kay   (Michael)   Ariano;  his  grandchildren,  Michelle  and
26    Nicholas Makris and Benjamin, Maxwell, and Leah  Ariano;  his
27    sisters,  Gladys (Thomas) Heffernan and Connie (Tim) Bultema;
28    his sister-in-law, Carol (Conrad) Fialkowski; and his nieces,
29    nephews, aunts, and cousins; therefore, be it

30        RESOLVED, BY  THE  SENATE  OF  THE  NINETY-THIRD  GENERAL
31    ASSEMBLY  OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing

 1    of Raymond D. Heintz and extend our deepest sympathy  to  his
 2    family, friends, and community; and be it further

 3        RESOLVED,  That  a  suitable  copy  of this resolution be
 4    presented to the family of Raymond D. Heintz as an expression
 5    of our sincerest condolences.
