SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois learned with great sadness of the passing of Walter Benjamin Kyle on December 10, 2003; and

WHEREAS, Walter Benjamin Kyle was born on January 13, 1925 in Pensacola, Florida; he was a faithful member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Pensacola, Florida; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Kyle was the third child born to Alfred and Elizabeth Rothchild Kyle; he attended Escambia County public schools, where after graduation, he was drafted into the U.S. Army; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Kyle received his bachelor's degree from Alabama State College, his master's degree from the University of Chicago, and his law degree from Howard University in Washington, D.C.; he was a practicing Attorney in Jacksonville, Florida, for a number of years and later served as Principal of Booker T. Washington Adult Evening School and Wedgewood High School in Pensacola, Florida; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Kyle was affiliated with the NAACP, Kappa Alpha Phi Fraternity, and the Young Men's Christian Association; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Walter Benjamin Kyle has been deeply felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his sons, Angelo Dante and Walter Benjamin; his daughter, Angela Kyle; his grandchildren, Angelo Dante II, Dononique (Arbrae) Flores, Jonathan Walter Anthony Kyle, and Ryan Kyle; his sister, Gloria M. Kyle; his brothers, Samuel Kyle and Charles Kyle; and his many nephews, nieces, cousins, and dear friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with all who knew him, the death of Walter Benjamin Kyle, and we extend our deepest sympathy to his family; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Walter Benjamin Kyle with our sincerest condolences.
