SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 were saddened to learn of the death of David R. Polivick of
4 Granite City on January 3, 2004; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Mr. Polivick was born on March 4, 1951, in Carroll
6 to John H. Polivick and Murrell Polivick Bumann; he married
7 Donna Julian on April 15, 1972 in Granite City; and
 
8     WHEREAS, Mr. Polivick was a Granite City police officer for
9 15 years; after retiring from the force, he was director of the
10 Granite City Park District for eight years; and
 
11     WHEREAS, He later became the Chouteau Island Project
12 Manager for Southwestern Illinois Resource, Conservation and
13 Development Inc., and most recently, he was the Executive
14 Director of the Metro East Park and Recreation District; and
 
15     WHEREAS, Mr. Polivick was active in many community and
16 civic organizations; he was a member of the Illinois
17 Association of Park Districts and a Founder and Treasurer of
18 the Board of Directors of Solid Granite, a nonprofit
19 corporation advocating community development and civic growth,
20 the Granite City Rotary Club, the Southern Illinois Greenways
21 and Trails Steering Committee, the Illinois Trail Council, and
22 the Illinois Conservation Congress, where he voted as a
23 representative delegate; and
 
24     WHEREAS, He was a member of the Board of Regents and
25 instructor for the Professional Developmental School for the
26 Illinois Park and Recreation Association; and he was a member
27 of Hope Luthern Church in Granite City; and
 
28     WHEREAS, His passing will be deeply felt by many,
29 especially his wife, Donna; his daughter, April Polivick; his

1 son, John Polivick; and his two sisters and brothers-in-law,
2 Debbie and Tom Cassidy, and Susan and Gary Thompson; therefore,
3 be it
 
4     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL
5 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of
6 David R. Polivick along with all who knew and loved him and
7 extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends; and
8 be it further
 
9     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10 presented to the family of David R. Polivick as an expression
11 of our deepest sympathy.
