SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois learned with regret of the death of Margaret McPhee of Justice, formerly of Ford City, on January 27, 2004; and

WHEREAS, Margaret Duhig worked as a secretary for law firms and real estate businesses on Chicago's South Side, after which she met her late husband, Joseph McPhee, who emigrated from Canada; he opened a funeral home in 1936; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. McPhee was the last charter member and Past Regent of Blessed Sacrament Circle 649 D of I, and a member of the St. Adrian Women's Guild and Senior Citizens Club; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Mrs. McPhee has been deeply felt by many, especially her sons, James J., Sr., and Joseph R.; her daughter, Joanne Neblo; her eight grandchildren; her twelve great-grandchildren; and her many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Margaret McPhee, and we extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Margaret McPhee as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
