SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate were saddened to learn of the death of Gregory Steven "Greg" Vasich of Naperville on April 9, 2004; and

WHEREAS, He was born on February 27, 1981 in Park Ridge; he attended Maplebrook Elementary School, Lincoln Junior High, and was a 1999 graduate of Naperville Central High School, where he was a National Merit Scholar and a member of the marching band, jazz band, and wind ensemble; and

WHEREAS, Greg Vasich was a December 2003 graduate, with honors, of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a bachelor of arts degree in English and Cinema Studies; for five seasons, he played the trombone with the Marching Illini; and

WHEREAS, He was employed by Ketchmark & Associates, Burr Ridge, as an engineering assistant; he was a member of Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Cathedral in Chicago and St. Joseph Orthodox Church in Wheaton; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Vasich had a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed camping, hiking, and mountain climbing with his family; he had a very joyous outlook on life; he loved spending time with his family and friends and also enjoyed movies, music, and sports; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Gregory Steven "Greg" Vasich will be deeply felt by many, especially his parents, Milton and Carol (Richards) Vasich; his brothers, Michael, Christopher, and Paul Vasich; his maternal grandparents, Jim and Agnes Richards; his paternal grandparents, Bratislav and Angelija Vasich; his aunts and uncles, Kathy and Richard Belliveau, Jim and Barb Richards, Don and Maria Vasich, and Alex Vasich; and his ten cousins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of Gregory Steven "Greg" Vasich along with all with all who knew and loved him and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and community; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Gregory Steven "Greg" Vasich as a token of our deepest sympathy.
