1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of
3 Illinois were saddened to learn of the death of Lester J.
4 Schmitz of Tower Hill on February 4, 2003; and
5 WHEREAS, Mr. Schmitz was born on July 27, 1935 in Shelby
6 County, the son of Winand and Ludvina Nold Schmitz; he
7 married Joyce M. Hielscher in 1959; and
8 WHEREAS, Mr. Schmitz graduated from Tower Hill High
9 School; he was a U.S. Army veteran and worked at Caterpillar
10 for 10 years; he later owned and operated Schmitz Plumbing
11 for 40 years; and
12 WHEREAS, Mr. Schmitz was a member of St. Patrick's
13 Catholic Church; and
14 WHEREAS, Mr. Schmitz's passing will be deeply felt by all
15 his friends and family, especially his wife, Joyce; his three
16 daughters, Kathleen (husband, John) Klein, Susan Beeson, and
17 Judith Schmitz; his two sons, Joseph (wife, Cynthia), and
18 William (wife, Lisa) Schmitz; his 14 grandchildren; his
19 great-grandchild; his four brothers, Clarence Schmitz, Eugene
20 Schmitz, Raymond Schmitz, and Leland Schmitz; and his sister,
21 Rosemary Huttes; therefore, be it
22 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL
23 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing
24 of Lester J. Schmitz, along with all who knew and loved him,
25 and extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends;
26 and be it further
27 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
28 presented to the family of Lester J. Schmitz with our deepest
29 sympathy.
