SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 were saddened to learn of the death of Terrance Patrick Loftus
4 of Plainfield on May 28, 2004, while serving his country, from
5 injuries sustained in an aviation accident; and
 
6     WHEREAS, Terrance Patrick Loftus was born on September 1,
7 1959 in Hastings, Michigan, to Patrick J. and Iris M. (Horsley)
8 Loftus; he was raised in Hastings and graduated with the class
9 of 1977 at Hastings High School; he received a bachelor's
10 degree in Aviation from Western Michigan University, where he
11 was active in the R.O.T.C. and a member of the Broncos Flying
12 Club; and
 
13     WHEREAS, Mr. Loftus joined the United States Army Reserves
14 and served as a helicopter pilot; he was also a flight
15 instructor at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland; he
16 joined the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration in 1989 and the
17 Air Wing in 1999; he was currently a special agent for the Drug
18 Enforcement Administration (D.E.A.) and pilot until the time of
19 his death; and
 
20     WHEREAS, The passing of Terrance Patrick Loftus will be
21 deeply felt by many, especially his wife of 10 years, Debbie
22 (Petri) Loftus; his children, Dornier, Banan, and Mallory, as
23 well as his fourth child, due in October; his parents, Patrick
24 and Iris Loftus; his sister, Denise (Dean O.) Garn; his
25 brother, Andrew Loftus; his several aunts; his uncles; his
26 cousins; and his in-laws, the Petri's; therefore, be it
 
27     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL
28 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we express our profound
29 sorrow upon the tragic death of Terrance Patrick Loftus and
30 extend to his bereaved family our most sincere sympathy; and be
31 it further

1     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
2 presented to the family of Terrance Patrick Loftus as an
3 expression of our deepest sympathy.
