SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate were deeply saddened to learn of the death of Rebecca L. Cutler of Chicago, formerly of Highland Park, on June 7, 2004; and

WHEREAS, Rebecca Cutler was born and raised in Highland Park; she graduated from North Shore Country Day School in Wilmette and received a bachelor's degree in English from Lake Forest College; and

WHEREAS, She started writing for her school newspapers and after graduation went to work for Chicago Magazine; she was on staff there and for the last seven years had the title of contributing editor; she also wrote free-lance articles for a number of other magazines; and

WHEREAS, She covered social events and handled assignments such as compiling a list of the 20 most eligible singles in Chicago every year; she was also involved in causes dealing with depression, including the National Institute of Mental Health Gift Fund in Bethesda, Maryland; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Rebecca L. Cutler will be deeply felt by many, especially her parents; and her brother, Brett; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Rebecca L. Cutler along with all who knew and loved her and extend our sincere condolences to her family and friends; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Rebecca L. Cutler as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
