HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate the Russell Oil Company on the occasion of its 50th anniversary; and

WHEREAS, The Russell Oil Company is located on 200 East Main Street in the Village of Galatia; and

WHEREAS, The Russell Oil Company is owned by Leon and Janet Russell, who have been serving the petroleum industry in the Galatia community for more than 50 years; and

WHEREAS, Leon and Janet Russell started their company with one location in November 1971, with the couple living with their four children in an apartment above the store when they first started their business; and

WHEREAS, The Russell Oil Company has continued to expand over the years; and

WHEREAS, Today, the Russell Oil Company includes 14 convenience stores, two package stores, three hardware stores, and two furniture stores in Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Russell Oil Company on its 50th anniversary, and we wish the company continued success; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Leon and Janet Russell as an expression of our esteem and respect.
