SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Master Sergeant Michael G. Fenner USAF, Retired of East Moline, who passed away on September 5, 2021; and

WHEREAS, Mike Fenner was born to Jack and Shirley "Pat" (Heiser) Fenner in Davenport, Iowa on May 26, 1951; he received his associate's degree during his time of service; he married Linda Grothusen on June 24, 1972; and

WHEREAS, Mike Fenner served in the U.S. Air Force; he retired as a highly decorated master sergeant in 1992, after 21 years of service; and

WHEREAS, Mike Fenner was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in East Moline; he was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion, and the Air Force Sergeants Association; he enjoyed cooking and had recently focused on gardening; and

WHEREAS, Mike Fenner was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Raymond Bustos; and

WHEREAS, Mike Fenner is survived by his wife, Linda; his sons, Jason (Julee Smith) Fenner, Justin (Valery) Fenner, and Jeffery (Angela) Fenner; his grandchildren, Severin, Jocelyn, and Alexandra; and his siblings, Jacklyn Bustos and Robert (Karen) Fenner; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Master Sergeant Michael G. Fenner USAF, Retired and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Mike Fenner as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
