SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Robert L. Widmer of Milan, who passed away on October 30, 2021; and

WHEREAS, Robert Widmer was born to Louis and Anna (Morris) Widmer in Rathbun, Iowa on September 20, 1930; he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict; he married Rose Kauzlarich in Rathbun, Iowa on June 20, 1953; and

WHEREAS, Robert Widmer worked as a salesman at Marlin Wholesale, Rock Island for 52 years; and

WHEREAS, Robert Widmer was a member of St. Pius Catholic Church, Rock Island and Moline American Legion Post #246; and

WHEREAS, Robert Widmer loved to cut grass and be around home with family and friends; and

WHEREAS, Robert Widmer was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Janice Schoolen; and

WHEREAS, Robert Widmer is survived by his wife; his brother, Jim Widmer; and his several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Robert L. Widmer and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Robert Widmer as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
