HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Sharon Shavaughn Marsh; and

WHEREAS, Sharon Marsh was born to Olivia Consuela and Vaughn Marsh in Chicago on August 4, 1964; she attended Wadsworth Elementary School and Hyde Park Academy; she married Daryl A. Monson in January 1998, and they later divorced in 2001; and

WHEREAS, Sharon Marsh worked in retail in downtown Chicago and served Cook County, the City of Chicago, the Cook County Sheriff's Office, the 8th Ward of Chicago, and the Chicago City Council as a receptionist; and

WHEREAS, Sharon Marsh attended Trinity United Church of Christ, where she was baptized on April 1, 2001; she volunteered for the 8th Ward of Chicago and was a member of the 8th Ward Regular Democratic Organization Women's Auxiliary; she was a previous member of the Young Democrats; and

WHEREAS, Sharon Marsh was funny, kind, witty, and loyal, and she touched many lives with her laid-back and sweet personality; and

WHEREAS, Sharon Marsh was preceded in death by her mother and her brother, Ronald Burkhalte; and

WHEREAS, Sharon Marsh is survived by her daughters, Shavaughn Patrice and Darnisha Ashley; her granddaughters, Jordan and London; her grandson, Malcolm; her sisters, Diane, Pamela, Tracey, and Denean; her aunt and uncle; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other family members, close friends, and acquaintances; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Sharon Shavaughn Marsh and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Sharon Marsh as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
