| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Robert E. "Bob" Rehse of Joy, formerly | 4 | | of Moline, who passed away on February 15, 2023; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Bob Rehse was born to William Benny and Ella | 6 | | Therese (Thater) Rehse in Moline on October 12, 1941; he | 7 | | attended McKinley Grade School in Moline; during his | 8 | | childhood, he was very active in Boy Scouts, earning many | 9 | | merit badges, awards, and medals, along with his older | 10 | | brother, Bill, and their father, who was the scout leader; he | 11 | | held many odd jobs in his youth, including rolling papers for | 12 | | the rural routes at the Moline Dispatch during high school; he | 13 | | graduated from Moline High School in 1959 and then studied to | 14 | | become a tool and die maker; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Bob Rehse was employed at John Deere Harvester | 16 | | Works for a few years before being drafted into the U.S. Army, | 17 | | where he served as a Huey helicopter mechanic with the 1st | 18 | | Cavalry Division (Airmobile) during the Vietnam War from 1965 | 19 | | to 1967; he then resumed his job at John Deere, where he worked | 20 | | for 42 years until his retirement in 2001; and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Bob Rehse was a NASCAR fan and enjoyed watching | 22 | | the races on TV; he also enjoyed watching cooking shows and the |

| 2 | | WHEREAS, Bob Rehse was preceded in death by his parents | 3 | | and his brother; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Bob Rehse is survived by his niece, Traci (Brent) | 5 | | Gonet and family, and his special friends, Mike and Christine | 6 | | Frieden and family; therefore, be it
| 7 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | 8 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 9 | | Robert E. "Bob" Rehse and extend our sincere condolences to | 10 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 11 | | further
| 12 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 13 | | presented to the family of Bob Rehse as an expression of our | 14 | | deepest sympathy.
