| 1 | | SENATE RESOLUTION
| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of JC Kowa of Olney, who passed away on | 4 | | March 18, 2023; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, JC Kowa was born to Carl and Betty (Worrell) Kowa | 6 | | in Olney on January 13, 1958; he married Carmen Cato at Trinity | 7 | | Lutheran Church in Olney on October 18, 1986; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, JC Kowa was a leader and mentor to many in | 9 | | Richland County; he served as chairman of the Richland County | 10 | | Republican Party for many years; he also served as a trustee of | 11 | | Olney Township and as southern vice president of the Illinois | 12 | | County Chairman Association; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, JC Kowa loved spending time at the family farm, | 14 | | where he took pleasure in mowing, gardening, and fishing; he | 15 | | also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and golfing | 16 | | with friends and family; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, JC Kowa will be remembered for his commitment to | 18 | | his family and community; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, JC Kowa was preceded in death by his parents; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, JC Kowa is survived by his wife, Carmen Kowa; his | 2 | | sons, Will (Savannah) Kowa and Jake (Allison) Kowa; his | 3 | | grandchildren, Mykaela, Emmersyn, Everytt, Wylla, Ivy, and | 4 | | Edyth Kowa; his sister, Nancy (Sal) Boccuzzi; his aunt, Bonnie | 5 | | (Richard) Schnell; and his several nieces, nephews, and | 6 | | cousins; therefore, be it
| 7 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | 8 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
| 9 | | JC Kowa and extend our sincere
condolences to his family, | 10 | | friends, and all who knew and loved
him; and be it further
| 11 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
| 12 | | presented to the family of JC Kowa as an expression of
our | 13 | | deepest sympathy.
