SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Danida Miriam Toomey of Springfield, who passed away on February 16, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Danida Toomey was deeply committed to her faith and her family; and

WHEREAS, Danida Toomey shared her beauty with those who admired her through lessons of empathy, kindness, manners, inclusion, and humility; and

WHEREAS, Danida Toomey was known for always entertaining her family and friends with her stories and hilarious sense of humor; and

WHEREAS, Danida Toomey will be remembered for her generous hospitality, quick wit, adventurous spirit, and ability to throw a party at a moment's notice; and

WHEREAS, Danida Toomey is survived by her sister, Toni (Ron); her children, Emilie, Elisabeth, and Connor (Shiloah); and her grandchildren, Jessica (Kyle), Kayleigh, Ian, Mason, Alex, and Hunter; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Danida Miriam Toomey and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Danida Toomey as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
