SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
20 ILCS 3405/10.5 new

    Amends the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency Act. Requires the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency to keep the following State historic sites open to the public 7 days per week: Black Hawk State Historic Site, Cahokia Mounds State Historic Site, Fort Kaskaskia State Historic Site, U.S. Grant Home State Historic Site, Lincoln-Herndon Law Office State Historic Site, Lincoln Log Cabin State Historic Site, Lincoln's New Salem State Historic Site, Lincoln's Tomb State Historic Site, Pierre Menard Home State Historic Site, and Old State Capitol State Historic Site. Effective July 1, 2005.

1     AN ACT concerning State historic sites.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Illinois Historic Preservation Agency Act is
5 amended by adding Section 10.5 as follows:
 
6     (20 ILCS 3405/10.5 new)
7     Sec. 10.5. State historic sites required to be open. The
8 Illinois Historic Preservation Agency must keep the following
9 State historic sites open to the public 7 days per week:
10     (1) Black Hawk State Historic Site;
11     (2) Cahokia Mounds State Historic Site;
12     (3) Fort Kaskaskia State Historic Site;
13     (4) U.S. Grant Home State Historic Site;
14     (5) Lincoln-Herndon Law Office State Historic Site;
15     (6) Lincoln Log Cabin State Historic Site;
16     (7) Lincoln's New Salem State Historic Site;
17     (8) Lincoln's Tomb State Historic Site;
18     (9) Pierre Menard Home State Historic Site; and
19     (10) Old State Capitol State Historic Site.
 
20     Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1,
21 2005.
