SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

220 ILCS 5/16-129

Amends the Public Utilities Act. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning the effect of Article XVI on existing contracts.

AN ACT concerning regulation.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Public Utilities Act is amended by changing Section 16-129 as follows:

(220 ILCS 5/16-129)

Sec. 16-129. Existing contracts not affected. Nothing in this Article XVI shall affect the right of an electric utility to continue to provide, or the right of the customer to continue to receive, service pursuant to a contract for electric service between the the electric utility and the customer, in accordance with the prices, terms and conditions provided for in that contract. Either the electric utility or the customer may require compliance with the prices, terms and conditions of such contract.
