SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
105 ILCS 5/10-20.40 new
105 ILCS 5/34-18.33 new

    Amend the School Code. Provides that if a school board contracts with a person to provide photographs of 12th grade pupils for a school yearbook, then the contract may not prohibit a pupil from supplying his or her own photograph for the yearbook, subject to the school board's reasonable specifications.

1     AN ACT concerning education.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Sections
5 10-20.40 and 34-18.33 as follows:
 
6     (105 ILCS 5/10-20.40 new)
7     Sec. 10-20.40. Yearbook photograph contract.
8     (a) If a school board contracts with a person to provide
9 photographs of 12th grade pupils for a school yearbook, then
10 the contract may not prohibit a pupil from supplying his or her
11 own photograph for the yearbook, subject to the school board's
12 reasonable specifications.
13     (b) This Section applies only to contracts entered into,
14 modified, extended, or renewed on or after the effective date
15 of this Section.
