SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

105 ILCS 5/34-18.33 new

    Amends the School Code. Requires a school board to prohibit a law enforcement agency or school official, while on school grounds or at a school-sponsored activity, from recruiting or compelling a student to participate in a police line-up, mock police line-up, or mug photograph shoot without the permission of the student's parent or guardian. Effective July 1, 2006.

1     AN ACT regarding schools.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Sections
5 10-20.40 and 34-18.33 as follows:
 
6     (105 ILCS 5/10-20.40 new)
7     Sec. 10-20.40. Prohibition on police line-ups and mug photo
8 shoots. A school board shall prohibit a law enforcement agency
9 or school official, while on school grounds or at a
10 school-sponsored activity, from recruiting or compelling a
11 student to participate in a police line-up, mock police
12 line-up, or mug photograph shoot without the permission of the
13 student's parent or guardian.

15     Sec. 34-18.33. Prohibition on police line-ups and mug photo
16 shoots. The board shall prohibit a law enforcement agency or
17 school official, while on school grounds or at a
18 school-sponsored activity, from recruiting or compelling a
19 student to participate in a police line-up, mock police
20 line-up, or mug photograph shoot without the permission of the
21 student's parent or guardian.
 
22     Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1,
23 2006.
