Amends the School Code. Provides that if a person is otherwise authorized to attend a public school's graduation ceremony, then the school may not deny admittance to that person if the person arrives after the ceremony has begun.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning education.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Sections 10-20.40 and 34-18.34 as follows:

(105 ILCS 5/10-20.40 new)

Sec. 10-20.40. Graduation ceremony; admittance. If a person is otherwise authorized to attend a public school's graduation ceremony, then the school may not deny admittance to that person if the person arrives after the ceremony has begun.

Sec. 34-18.34. Graduation ceremony; admittance. If a person is otherwise authorized to attend a public school's graduation ceremony, then the school may not deny admittance to that person if the person arrives after the ceremony has begun.
