| WHEREAS, The members of the General Assembly of the State |

| of Illinois congratulate Rock Island's Alleman High School |

| Pioneers boys wrestling, boys cross country and girls |

| basketball teams on their successes; and

| WHEREAS, The boys wrestling team brought home the 2004-2005 |
| 7 |
| 2nd place trophy from the Illinois High School Association |
| 8 |
| (IHSA) Class A Boys Wrestling State Championship finals on |
| 9 |
| February 26, 2005 at the NIU Convocation Center in DeKalb; John |
| 10 |
| Wetherell is their wrestling coach, and the team went 23-3 in |
| 11 |
| dual meets; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, The boys cross country team captured its first |
| 13 |
| Class A cross-country crown on November 6, 2004 at Detweiler |
| 14 |
| Park in Peoria; Mike Ethington is their head coach; and
|
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, The girls basketball team brought home the |
| 16 |
| 2004-2005 championship trophy from the IHSA Class A
Girls |
| 17 |
| Basketball State Championship game on February 26, 2005 at the |
| 18 |
| Redbird Arena in Normal; there were 500 Class A teams playing |
| 19 |
| for the girls' state title; no other boys or girls team in the |
| 20 |
| Illinois Quad-Cities has ever won in the 97-year history of |
| 21 |
| IHSA state basketball tournament play; Jay Hatch is their head |
| 22 |
| coach, and they completed their season with a 31-7 record; and
|
| 23 |
| WHEREAS, In high school basketball, as in life itself, it |
| 24 |
| takes a little luck along with hard work and ability to pull |
| 25 |
| down the big prize; the girls combined hustle with |
| 26 |
| determination, teamwork, and all-around basketball ability to |
| 27 |
| snare the top prize; and

| 28 |
| WHEREAS, The outstanding talent, efforts, and achievements |
| 29 |
| of all the players, coaches, and support staff are to be |
