HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the State of Illinois learned with sadness of the death of Joe D. Montgomery of Danville on Wednesday, March 8, 2006; and

WHEREAS, He was born on September 17, 1932, in Tilton to Charles and Bessie Young Montgomery; he married Betty N. Ingram on July 25, 1958, in Danville; and

WHEREAS, He retired from the State of Illinois Central Management Division and later worked as a realtor with First Reality in Danville; he was a member of the Catlin Church of Christ and served as Republican County Chairman for ten years; he enjoyed politics; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Joe D. Montgomery has been deeply felt by many, especially his wife, Betty; his son, Tony (Valerie) Montgomery; his brother, Charles (Betty) Montgomery; and his grandchildren, Kimberly, Amy, and Annie Montgomery; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Joe D. Montgomery, and we extend our deepest sympathy to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to his family as an expression of our sincerest condolences.
