HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The highest award the National Council of the Boy
3 Scouts of America can bestow upon a Scout is that of Eagle
4 Scout; and
 
5     WHEREAS, James Mitro of Boy Scout Troop 46, in Riverton,
6 received the Eagle Scout Award at a Court of Honor on March 26,
7 2006, at the Riverton Eagles Club in Riverton; and
 
8     WHEREAS, In order to qualify as an Eagle Scout, a young man
9 must demonstrate outstanding qualities of leadership, a
10 willingness to be of help to others, and superior skills in
11 camping, lifesaving, and first aid; and
 
12     WHEREAS, James has demonstrated his leadership ability by
13 serving within the troop and patrol as Librarian, Den Chief,
14 Patrol Leader, Senior Patrol Leader, Assistant Patrol Leader,
15 Instructor, Troop Guide, and Quartermaster; and
 
16     WHEREAS, He has accumulated 36 merit badges; in order to
17 become an Eagle Scout, a scout must complete 21 merit badges,
18 have community service hours, and do an Eagle project that
19 benefits the community; James' Eagle Project included
20 beautifying the grounds and clearing out the outdoor
21 amphitheater at Camp Widjiwagan Girl Scout Camp in
22 Springfield,; and
 
23     WHEREAS, In earning this high rank, James joins an elite
24 and honorable fraternity of achievers that counts among its
25 members an extraordinary number of this nation's great leaders
26 in business, government, education, and other sectors of
27 society; and
 
28     WHEREAS, The achievement of the rank of Eagle Scout
29 reflects favorably upon the recipient, his justly proud family,

1 his Scoutmaster, and his fellow scouts; therefore, be it
 
2     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
3 NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
4 we join his family and friends in congratulating James Mitro
5 upon attaining the coveted rank of Eagle Scout, and we commend
6 him upon the unswerving dedication to excellence that is the
7 hallmark of the Eagle Scout; and be it further
 
8     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9 presented to Eagle Scout James Mitro as an expression of our
10 respect and esteem.
