| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The Centralia Rotary Clubs are celebrating the |
| 3 |
| 100th anniversary of the founding of Rotary International on |
| 4 |
| Wednesday, February 23, 2005; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Centralia Rotary Club was organized in 1920 and is |
| 6 |
| celebrating 85 years of continuous service to the Centralia |
| 7 |
| area; the Centralia Sunrise Rotary was organized in 1984 and is |
| 8 |
| celebrating 20 years of continuous service in the Centralia |
| 9 |
| area; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, Rotary International is a worldwide organization |
| 11 |
| that does not discriminate, with over 1.2 million members in |
| 12 |
| 166 countries; the organization promotes fellowship, service |
| 13 |
| above self, and world understanding and peace; its efforts to |
| 14 |
| eradicate polio in the world have had a major effect on |
| 15 |
| countless lives in many nations; and
|
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, The Centralia Sunrise Rotary and Centralia Noon |
| 17 |
| Rotary have about 130 members; the clubs will hold an open |
| 18 |
| house on February 23, 2005, in celebration of the 100th |
| 19 |
| anniversary of the international organization; therefore, be |
| 20 |
| it

| 21 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 22 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 23 |
| we honor the Centralia Rotary Clubs on the occasion of Rotary |
| 24 |
| International's 100th anniversary, and we thank the members of |
| 25 |
| the clubs for their devotion to the ideals of Rotary and their |
| 26 |
| commitment to helping others; and be it further
|
| 27 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 28 |
| presented to the Centralia Sunrise Rotary Club and the |
| 29 |
| Centralia Noon Rotary Club as an expression of our respect and |
| 30 |
| esteem and with best wishes for the continued success of each |
