HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Donald F. Hogan has been named Man of the Year by the Leo High School Alumni Association; and

WHEREAS, Don was born and raised in St. Sabina Parish; after graduating from Leo in 1945, he proudly served his country in 1945 and 1946 in the U.S. Navy, serving on the U.S.S. Wisconsin for a year; upon his return stateside, he attended St. Bede Junior College and Loyola University; and

WHEREAS, Don's career has been in the insurance industry for 53 years, primarily with Bankers Life and Casualty as an agent and sales manager; he earned his certificates as a certified life underwriter and charter financial consultant; and

WHEREAS, This dedicated alumnus has been active in the Leo Alumni Association since 1955; serving as Alumni President in 1961-62, Don was instrumental in establishing the "Man of the Year Award"; currently, he is a member of the Alumni Board of Directors; his efforts and support for Leo were acknowledged in 1998 when he was inducted into the Leo High School Hall of Fame; and

WHEREAS, Don married the love of his life, Rita, and they had four wonderful children, Jeanne, Colette, Patricia, and Thomas; his children have blessed him with 15 grandchildren, all living in the Chicagoland area; Don lost his best friend and wife in 2002; he keeps himself busy now with golf, family, and the Cubs; and

WHEREAS, Don is a man of dignity, grace, and integrity; he is a longtime, loyal supporter of Leo High School and the Alumni Association and is truly deserving of the honor of being named Man of the Year; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Donald F. Hogan on being named Man of the Year by the Leo High School Alumni Association, and we wish him the very best; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Donald F. Hogan as a token of our esteem.
