HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the
3 State of Illinois are pleased to congratulate Albert L. Grasso
4 on the occasion of his retirement from the full time practice
5 of law; and
 
6     WHEREAS, Mr. Grasso is the president and a founding
7 shareholder of Chuhak & Tecson, P.C.; he is admitted to
8 practice before the United States Supreme Court, the Court of
9 Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, the United States Tax Court,
10 and State and federal courts in Illinois and the District of
11 Columbia; and
 
12     WHEREAS, He is a graduate of Georgetown University, where
13 he received his undergraduate (School of Foreign Service), law,
14 and graduate degrees (LLM); he is the author of seven books and
15 the co-author of five additional books on tax and employee
16 benefits; and
 
17     WHEREAS, He valiantly served his country as a member of the
18 U.S. Army from 1968 to 1970 and was honorably discharged as a
19 sergeant; he received an Army Commendation, the Viet Nam
20 Service and Viet Nam Campaign awards from the U.S. Army, and
21 the Royal Thai Supreme Forward Command Master's Badge; and
 
22     WHEREAS, Mr. Grasso is a member of the Advisory Board for
23 the Accountant's Business Manual and a lecturer for the
24 American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the
25 National Tax Education Program co-sponsored by the AICPA and
26 the University of Illinois, the National Tax Institute, the
27 Federal Tax Workshops, and various business and professional
28 groups; and
 
29     WHEREAS, He is the editor of the Journal of Law and Policy
30 in International Business, a law review publication of

1 Georgetown University; an assistant professor at the Walter L.
2 Heller College of Business Administration of Roosevelt
3 University in Chicago; chairman of the American Management
4 Associations National Conference on Employee Benefits; and a
5 member of Delta Phi Epsilon, the international Foreign Service
6 Fraternity; and
 
7     WHEREAS, Mr. Grasso has tried, argued, or briefed tax,
8 employee benefit, and other cases at all court levels,
9 including the U.S. Supreme Court; he has also dealt with the
10 Internal Revenue Service and the Department of Labor on all
11 aspects of tax and benefit matters at the local, appellate,
12 regional, and national levels; therefore, be it
 
13     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
14 NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
15 we congratulate Mr. Grasso on the occasion of his retirement,
16 and we wish him well in the future; and be it further
 
17     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18 presented to him as an expression of our esteem.
