HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the State of Illinois are pleased to recognize a business that has served the people of the State of Illinois and the Midwest for many years; and

WHEREAS, The Maschhoffs Inc. is headquartered in Carlyle and offers management services for a number of Midwestern family pork farmers; the company has over 100 years of experience in pork production as a family-owned business; and

WHEREAS, The Maschhoff family uses the knowledge gained over a century of farming to help other family farms continue their legacies; the company's goal is to raise pork in an efficient, environmentally-conscious, secure, and profitable manner; and

WHEREAS, The Maschhoffs Inc. contributes much to the Carlyle area, both as an employer and as a resource for family farms and other pork producers; and

WHEREAS, The business is truly a family business, with Ken Maschhoff, a fifth-generation member of the Maschhoff farming family, serving as Chief Executive Officer; his brother, Dave Maschhoff is the Chief Operating Officer, and Julie Maschhoff, Ken's wife, serves as Director of Public Relations; and

WHEREAS, One Maschhoff family member, Wayne, is celebrating his 75th birthday; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we commend The Maschhoffs Inc. for the exceptional job it continues to do in the Carlyle area, serving family farms and pork producers throughout the Midwest as well as providing numerous jobs to members of the community, and we congratulate Wayne Maschhoff on the occasion of his 75th birthday; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to The Maschhoffs Inc. as an expression of our deep respect and esteem and with our gratitude for the work the company does in our great State.
