HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The Retired Teachers Association of Chicago will be celebrating its 80th birthday this year; and

WHEREAS, The Association now has some 22,000 members; and

WHEREAS, The Association has provided social, educational, and legislative programs to its members over many years; and

WHEREAS, The Association has been an active participant in legislative issues protecting the pensions of its members; and

WHEREAS, The Retired Teachers Association of Chicago enjoys the respect and support of legislators, Pension Fund Trustees, the Chicago Teachers Union, and the Chicago Public Schools; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Retired Teachers Association of Chicago on its 80 years of service to its many members; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Association.
