HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to honor milestones in the lives of citizens of the State of Illinois; and

WHEREAS, The McCracken Middle School Symphonic Band, from Skokie, Illinois has received an invitation to present a concert at the 2006 "60th Anniversary" Midwest Clinic; and

WHEREAS, The Clinic is an international band and orchestra conference with over 15,000 attendees each year; the McCracken Middle School Symphonic Band will be one of only three middle school bands in the nation performing and is the first middle school band invited from the State of Illinois in almost twenty years; and

WHEREAS, This invitation is a sign of the McCracken Middle School Symphonic Band's accomplishments and high standards; and

WHEREAS, The McCracken Middle School Symphonic Band is under the direction of Chip De Stefano; for the past ten years, Chip De Stefano has worked with the students, instilling in them a love for music and dedication to the band; and

WHEREAS, The McCracken Middle School Symphonic Band has been honored seven times in the last ten years at the Illinois Superstate Concert Band Festival in Champaign; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Chip De Stefano and the members of the McCracken Middle School Symphonic Band on receiving this honor; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Chip De Stefano and the McCracken Middle School Symphonic Band.
