| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 |
| Representatives are pleased to honor milestones in the lives of | 4 |
| Illinois citizens; and | 5 |
| WHEREAS, Vincent J. Trosino joined State Farm Insurance | 6 |
| Companies in 1962 in the Pennsylvania regional office, moving | 7 |
| to the home office in Bloomington, Illinois in 1967, and being | 8 |
| named Director of Home Office Personnel Relations in 1972; and
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Trosino served as division manager and deputy | 10 |
| regional vice president in the Southern California regional | 11 |
| office through 1980, later being named Regional Vice President | 12 |
| for the Northeastern regional office in 1981; and
| 13 |
| WHEREAS,
Mr. Trosino was elected Vice President in the | 14 |
| President's Office in 1986, rising to Executive Vice President | 15 |
| in 1987, Chief Operating Officer for State Farm Mutual in 1991, | 16 |
| Vice Chairman in 1994, and President in 1998; and
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Trosino now serves as President, Vice | 18 |
| Chairman, and Chief Operating Officer for State Farm Mutual | 19 |
| Automobile Insurance Company, in addition to Vice Chairman of | 20 |
| the Board of State Farm Fire and Casualty Company, and State | 21 |
| Farm Life Insurance Company; and
| 22 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Trosino is a member of the board of directors | 23 |
| and executive committees of State Farm General Insurance, State | 24 |
| Farm Lloyds, Inc., State Farm Life and Accident Assurance, and | 25 |
| Slate Farm Annuity and Life Insurance companies, as well as the | 26 |
| State Farm Investment Management Corporation, and State Farm | 27 |
| International Services, Inc., and the executive committees of | 28 |
| State Farm Mutual and State Farm Fire and Casualty; and
| 29 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Trosino received a Bachelor's degree from |

| Villanova University, and a Master's degree from Illinois State | 2 |
| University, where he later taught human resources management; | 3 |
| and | 4 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Trosino has dedicated his time and talents | 5 |
| outside State Farm as well, by being elected to the Brookings | 6 |
| Institution Board of Trustees, serving on the executive | 7 |
| committee and the budget and finance committee, joining the | 8 |
| Board of Directors of the Insurance Information Institute in | 9 |
| 2002, and serving on the Board of Directors of Vulcan Materials | 10 |
| Company beginning in 2003; and | 11 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Trosino is past chairman of the Board of | 12 |
| Trustees of the American Institute for CPCU, the Insurance | 13 |
| Institute of America, and the Insurance Institute for Applied | 14 |
| Ethics; and
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Trosino's civic work continued through an | 16 |
| appointment to the Judicial Inquiry Board in 1992 by former | 17 |
| Illinois Governor Jim Edgar, serving as a member of the board | 18 |
| of directors and executive committee of the American Judicature | 19 |
| Society, and being named to the board of directors of the | 20 |
| National Italian American Foundation; and | 21 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Trosino's commitment to education has been | 22 |
| demonstrated by his service on the Illinois State University | 23 |
| Foundation Board of Directors from 1989 to 1997, and as | 24 |
| chairman from 1993 to 1997, in addition to service on the | 25 |
| Villanova University College of Commerce and Finance Board of | 26 |
| Advisors; and | 27 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Trosino's outstanding public service has been | 28 |
| recognized through his work with the Children's Foundation of | 29 |
| McLean County, the honor of receiving the Distinguished Alumni | 30 |
| Award by the College of Arts and Science at Villanova | 31 |
| University, induction into the Arts and Science Hall of Fame at |
|

| Illinois State University, and receiving the 2001 Joseph | 2 |
| Cardinal Bernardin Humanitarian of the Year Award; therefore,

| be it | 4 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | 5 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | 6 |
| we congratulate Vincent J. Trosino on his retirement from State | 7 |
| Farm Insurance Companies; and be it further
| 8 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 9 |
| presented to Vincent J. Trosino.
