HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, It takes between $50 and $60 to get started with I-PASS; I-PASS users pay a refundable security deposit for the transponder; and

WHEREAS, Senior citizens are often on a fixed income; the cost of setting up and maintaining an I-PASS account can be cost-prohibitive for seniors; and

WHEREAS, The benefits of I-PASS are also outweighed for infrequent travelers on the toll roads; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we urge the Governor to direct the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority to offer less expensive I-PASS rates for seniors and infrequent travelers; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copies of this resolution be delivered to the Governor and the Chairman of the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority.
