HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives congratulate Orland Park's Carl Sandburg High School Eagles wrestling team on winning the 2004-05 Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Boys Wrestling Class AA State Championship; and

WHEREAS, The 2005 Dual Team Wrestling Tournament took place on February 26, 2005 at the NIU Convocation Center in DeKalb; the final score was Orland Park Sandburg 26, Carol Stream Glenbard North 23; the Eagles (30-1) were unbeaten against Illinois teams during the season; and

WHEREAS, Leading the Eagles wrestling team are head coach Mike Polz; assistant coaches Eric Siebert, John Polz, and Mike Klutcharch; and trainers John Wator and Scott Peters; and

WHEREAS, Carl Sandburg High School's principal is Debbie Boniface and the athletic director is Len Motta; and

WHEREAS, The Eagles wrestling team members are Mike McAuliffe, Matt Schmeski, Kevin White, Conrad Polz, Brandon Precin, Paul Campos, Ryan Precin, Mike Schaffer, Matt Cusick, Nick Soraghan, Mike Anello, Scott Eichberger, Eric Pretto, Ben Friedl, John Doyle, Brett Ambrosino, Clinton Polz, Glenn Hurt, Cameron Miller, Bob Sirvid, and Eric Rettke; and

WHEREAS, The wrestlers, coaches, and trainers are to be commended for their hard work; the title was the culmination of a season of hard practices and difficult matches, and they accomplished every goal they had as a team; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we recognize the talent of these young athletes, their coaches, and their trainers and congratulate them on winning the 2004-05 IHSA Boys Wrestling Class AA State Championship; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Carl Sandberg High School as an expression of our esteem and with best wishes for continued success in the future.
