HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the State of Illinois are pleased to congratulate James Kingston on the occasion of his retirement as mayor of Paxton after a record-setting 28 years in office; and

WHEREAS, Mayor Kingston is the youngest person ever elected mayor of Paxton and the man who held the job the longest; he was first elected mayor at age 32; and

WHEREAS, He has been mayor since May 1, 1977, and will give up his office at the end of his present four-year term, which concludes April 30, 2005; and

WHEREAS, He is retiring from both his elected position as mayor and his regular full-time job at AmerenCIPS; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Mayor James Kingston on the occasion of his retirement, and we thank him for his many dedicated years of service to his constituents; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Mayor Kingston as an expression of our deepest respect and esteem and with best wishes for a relaxing retirement.
