| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the |

| State of Illinois are pleased to congratulate the honorees of |

| the Chatham Avalon Park Community Council's 28th Annual Awards |
| 5 |
| Dinner; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, The Chatham Avalon Park Community Council is |
| 7 |
| hosting its 28th Annual Awards Dinner on Saturday, October 16, |
| 8 |
| 2004 to honor several business, civic, community, religious, |
| 9 |
| and educational leaders who have made major contributions to |
| 10 |
| the growth and edification of the community; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, The theme at this year's awards dinner is "Engage, |
| 12 |
| Educate and Enlighten, 49 years of Building Our Community"; and
|
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, This year's honoree's are Judy Rice, Chicago City |
| 14 |
| Treasurer; Reverend Jeremiah Wright of Trinity United Church of |
| 15 |
| Christ; Edward Gardner; Cheryl Burton of ABC Channel 7; Melody |

| Spann Cooper of WVON; Mr. & Mrs. Curtis Briggs of Curt's |
| 17 |
| Bar-B-Q; George Davis of Davis News Agency; Lon Brown, Sub Area |

| 5 Chairperson; Angela Smith, Sub Area 5 Assistant Chairperson; |

| Beedie Jones of Mather Cafe; Dr. Howard Stanback; and Dr. |

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
