| WHEREAS, Middle Creek Presbyterian Church of Winnebago |
| 3 |
| will be celebrating its 150th anniversary on June 24 through |
| 4 |
| June 26, 2005; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Church members are proud of their long heritage |
| 6 |
| and strong community ties to the Winnebago and Ogle county |
| 7 |
| area; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, To lead off its 150th anniversary weekend |
| 9 |
| celebration, the church will host professional actress Pippa |
| 10 |
| White in "Far As The Eye Can See", a 70-minute one-woman |
| 11 |
| program that re-creates the history of the prairie and its |
| 12 |
| people, the early pioneers who crossed it, the later settlers, |
| 13 |
| the brave farmers of the Dust Bowl, and the Native Americans |
| 14 |
| who struggled to keep the prairie that once belonged only to |
| 15 |
| them; and
|
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, Many other activities are planned for this very |
| 17 |
| special weekend, including a cemetery walk, an ice cream |
| 18 |
| social, historical displays, games, and McCormick Tomb Tours, |
| 19 |
| as well as presentations of other people buried in the |
| 20 |
| cemetery; and
|
| 21 |
| WHEREAS, This weekend celebration will share rich history, |
| 22 |
| beautiful music, and valuable storytelling of the past and |
| 23 |
| present of Middle Creek Presbyterian Church; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |

| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 26 |
| we congratulate Middle Creek Presbyterian Church on the |
| 27 |
| occasion of its 150th anniversary and extend sincerest best

| wishes for continued blessings and success in its most
