HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the
3 State of Illinois were saddened to learn of the death of Versie
4 Lucille Wade Williams on October 16, 2005; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Mrs. Versie Lucille Wade Williams was born on May
6 6, 1926 in Pickens, Mississippi to the late union of Versie
7 Wade and Linnie Wade; the eldest of four children, she was
8 preceded in death by her parents, Versie and Linnie Wade, and
9 two sisters, Rosetta Daniels and Elizabeth Williams; and
 
10     WHEREAS, Mrs. Williams was united in matrimony to Clarence
11 Williams, Sr., in December 1944, and to this union eight
12 children were born; four of her children preceded her in death:
13 Clarence Jr., Oralee, Joe, and Michael; and
 
14     WHEREAS, Mrs. Williams confessed in Christ at an early age
15 at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Pickens, Mississippi; she was a
16 faithful member of Central Memorial Missionary Baptist Church,
17 where she was a member of the Willing Workers Club until her
18 death; she worked at Little Company of Mary Hospital; and
 
19     WHEREAS, Representative Arthur Turner was always known as
20 Curtis to Mrs. Williams; she also served as the neighbor
21 children's mother; she was a mother to everyone; she and Mrs.
22 Turner believed in buying food in bulk at a wholesale store,
23 and they then divide the food between themselves; and
 
24     WHEREAS, Mrs. Williams was a loving and kind person who
25 would help any and everyone; she was loved and will be dearly
26 missed; her survivors are: two daughters, Linnie Hughes and
27 Patricia Appling (husband, James); two sons Eddie (wife,
28 Jeanette) and Willie Williams; twenty-one grandchildren;
29 forty-six great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one
30 brother, Clarence Murry, Sr.; one great aunt, Geneva; one

1 brother-in-law, Eldridge Williams; a special nephew, Willie
2 Earl Murry; two special friends, Catherine Turner and Alice
3 Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends;
4 therefore, be it
 
5     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
6 NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
7 we mourn the death of Versie Lucille Wade Williams, and we
8 extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all
9 who knew and loved her; and be it further
 
10     RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be presented to
11 the family of Versie Lucille Wade Williams as an expression of
12 our deepest sympathy.
