HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The support of members of the U.S. Armed Forces
3 that are serving overseas is a cause worthy of recognition; and
 
4     WHEREAS, Members of the Franklin Park School Beta Club
5 assisted in finishing 48 quilts that were made to send to
6 soldiers from the Salem National Guard Unit who are serving in
7 Iraq; the quilts were boxed and shipped on November 21, 2005;
8 they were made by Helen Arnold of Vernon, Arletta Bundy of
9 Centralia, and the Gilead Methodist Church Quilt Group of
10 Centralia; the students spent many hours tying the quilts to
11 finish them and prepare them for shipping; and
 
12     WHEREAS, Members of the Beta Club who helped prepare the
13 quilts include Alyssa Williams, Bailey Cook, Chelsea Knaak,
14 Rayla Barnfield, Brittany Stinnett, Katie Somerville, Courtney
15 Bice, Levi Molenhour, Josey Fitzwater, LeeAnn Wood, Joey
16 Suarez, Elizabeth Chapman, Cassie Ambuehl, Seth Molenhour,
17 Austin Hamm, Katie Bringwald, Kristina Cape, Lance Reynolds,
18 Abby Collum, Jessica Piper, Alissa DeWitt, Brittany Morris,
19 Megan Steward, Allison Cartwright, and Nancy Beem; Steve Smith
20 of Salem was the organizer of the project; therefore, be it
 
21     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
22 NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
23 we thank the Franklin Park School Beta Club and Steve Smith,
24 Helen Arnold, Arletta Bundy, and the Gilead Methodist Church
25 Quilt Group for their assistance in sending several quilts to
26 soldiers from the Salem National Guard Unit who are serving in
27 Iraq; and be it further
 
28     RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
29 presented to the members of the Franklin Park School Beta Club
30 and Steve Smith, Helen Arnold, Arletta Bundy, and the Gilead
31 Methodist Church Quilt Group as expressions of our esteem.
