HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The support of members of the U.S. Armed Forces that are serving overseas is a cause worthy of recognition; and

WHEREAS, Members of the Franklin Park School Beta Club assisted in finishing 48 quilts that were made to send to soldiers from the Salem National Guard Unit who are serving in Iraq; the quilts were boxed and shipped on November 21, 2005; they were made by Helen Arnold of Vernon, Arletta Bundy of Centralia, and the Gilead Methodist Church Quilt Group of Centralia; the students spent many hours tying the quilts to finish them and prepare them for shipping; and

WHEREAS, Members of the Beta Club who helped prepare the quilts include Alyssa Williams, Bailey Cook, Chelsea Knaak, Rayla Barnfield, Brittany Stinnett, Katie Somerville, Courtney Bice, Levi Molenhour, Josey Fitzwater, LeeAnn Wood, Joey Suarez, Elizabeth Chapman, Cassie Ambuehl, Seth Molenhour, Austin Hamm, Katie Bringwald, Kristina Cape, Lance Reynolds, Abby Collum, Jessica Piper, Alissa DeWitt, Brittany Morris, Megan Steward, Allison Cartwright, Nancy Beem, Dushyant Patel, Jerod Brummett, and Blair Monroe; Steve Smith of Salem was the organizer of the project; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we thank the Franklin Park School Beta Club and Steve Smith, Helen Arnold, Arletta Bundy, and the Gilead Methodist Church Quilt Group for their assistance in sending several quilts to soldiers from the Salem National Guard Unit who are serving in Iraq; and be it further

RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be presented to the members of the Franklin Park School Beta Club and Steve Smith, Helen Arnold, Arletta Bundy, and the Gilead Methodist Church Quilt Group as expressions of our esteem.
