SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with deep sadness of the death of Maureen K.
4 McCambridge of Park Ridge on Monday, February 21, 2005; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Maureen Kelly was born on March 3, 1954, in
6 Chicago to Shirley and Parnell Kelly; she was a graduate of
7 Marillac High School in Northfield and Quincy College in
8 Quincy; and
 
9     WHEREAS, From 1976 to 1986, she taught fourth grade at St.
10 Francis Xavier Catholic School; she married James McCambridge
11 in 1980; while raising her children, she immersed herself in
12 their schooling and in volunteer work at St. Paul of the Cross
13 Catholic School in Park Ridge, where she was school board
14 president; and
 
15     WHEREAS, Mrs. McCambridge returned to teaching in 2000; she
16 worked in Des Plaines Elementary District 62 as a social
17 studies literacy teacher for students in first through third
18 grade; she started as a part-time gifted program teacher from
19 2000 to 2003, and in 2004, she taught a first grade homeroom;
20 she was very active at Forest School and had recently launched
21 the first Forest student council; and
 
22     WHEREAS, The passing of Maureen K. McCambridge has been
23 deeply felt by many, especially her husband, James; her
24 children, Daniel, Meghan, and Kelly; her parents, Shirley and
25 Parnell Kelly; and her siblings, Parnell Jr. "Rusty"
26 (Elizabeth) Kelly, James (Leslie) Kelly, Jack Kelly, Patricia
27 (Larry Holland) Kelly, Coleen (Kent) Mast, Kathy (Mike)
28 Barbarone, and Mary (Matt) Petrash; she was preceded in death
29 by her brother, Joseph Kelly; therefore, be it
 
30     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL

1 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
2 Maureen K. McCambridge, and we extend our deepest sympathy to
3 her family, friends, colleagues, students, and all who knew and
4 loved her; and be it further
 
5     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6 presented to the family of Mrs. McCambridge as an expression of
7 our sincere condolences for their deep loss.
