SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois learned with sadness of the death of Raymond E. Bruce of Lake of Egypt on Tuesday, July 5, 2005; and

WHEREAS, He was born November 13, 1946, in Marion to Paul Bruce and Wilma (Wiseman) Bruce Sanders; he married Linda (Stephens) on July 3, 1975, in Marion; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Bruce last worked as a materials specialist at General Dynamics; he valiantly served his country as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps for two years in Vietnam; he was a member of the Marion VFW, Elks, and Knights of Pythias; he was a Methodist; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Raymond E. Bruce has been deeply felt by many, especially his wife, Linda; his mother, Wilma Sanders; his son, Jason Bruce; his daughter, Misti Carroll and husband, Jim; his grandchildren, Mason Bruce, Zachary Garland, Tyler Carroll, Jamie Carroll, and Stephanie Carroll; his brother, Jerry Bruce; his sister, Shirley Canaday and husband, Steve; his niece, Paula Canaday; his nephew, Jerry Canaday and wife, Danielle; and his many cousins and friends; he was preceded in death by his father, and an infant sister, Linda Lou Bruce; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Raymond E. Bruce, and we extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to his family as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
