SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois learned with sadness of the death of Edward H. "Brother Harry" Shempf of Bartonville on July 21, 2005; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Shempf was born May 24, 1953, in Peoria to Charles H. Sr. and Donna Walberg Shempf; he attended classes at Illinois Central College for one year; and

WHEREAS, He was a member of Laborers Local 165 for 32 years; he worked at Hiram Walker & Sons and Illinois American Water Co.; he worked in construction for the past 13 years and was an avid ball player and bowler; and

WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Edward Shempf is felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his daughter, Donna Aaron; his grandson; his brother, Charlie (Lisa) Shempf Jr.; and his sisters, Paulette (Gary) Hand and Charlette (Chuck) Hancock; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Edward Shempf and extend our sincerest condolences to his family, friends, and community; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to his family as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
