1 SENATE RESOLUTION

2     WHEREAS, The holy month of Ramadan is observed by Muslims
3 throughout Illinois and the United States during the month of
4 October; and

5     WHEREAS, Muslims celebrate this holy time through fasting,
6 prayer, and assisting those who need a helping hand; and

7     WHEREAS, The citizens of Illinois should respect and honor
8 the faith and traditions of Muslims; therefore, be it

9     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
10 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we recognize October as
11 the holy month of Ramadan.
