SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois were grieved to learn of the death of Sergeant Jessica M. Housby of Rock Island on Wednesday, February 9, 2005, while serving in Iraq with her unit, the 1644 Transportation Company, Rock Falls; and

WHEREAS, Jessica M. Housby was born on December 31, 1981, in Rock Island, the daughter of Deborah Housby Bundy; she graduated from Rock Island High School in 2000, and she was employed at Happy Joe's of Milan for several years; and

WHEREAS, She currently was employed at Pediatrics Group Associates in Moline; she joined the Illinois National Guard in 1999; she often talked about her co-workers at the Pediatric Group, especially the doctors; they made her employment warm and were a pleasure to work for; and

WHEREAS, Jessica loved playing softball, and she often worked out at the Rock Island Fitness Center; she was a very outgoing person and a joy to be with; all those who knew her know how deeply she will be missed; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Sergeant Jessica M. Housby has been deeply felt by many, especially her mother, Deborah Bundy; her brother, Matthew Bundy; her grandparents, Edward and Margaret Housby, Marvin Sr. and Teresa Bundy, and Janice and Barb Daniels; her aunts and uncles, Michael Roberts and Lori Housby, Kraig and Mary Liddell, Rose Mann, Robert and Patricia Cather, Dennis and Leelynn Housby, Therese Adams, and Edward Jr. and Linda Housby; and her 17 cousins and four great-cousins; she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Marvin F. Bundy II; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Sergeant Jessica M. Housby, and we extend our deepest sympathy to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That we honor the memory of Sergeant Housby and her willingness to serve our country, which led to her making the ultimate sacrifice; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to her family as an expression of our sincerest condolences for their loss.
