SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with regret of the death of Robert Dale Schuler of Dow
4 on Friday, May 5, 2006; and
 
5     WHEREAS, He was born on January 19, 1947, in Dallas, Texas,
6 to Robert L. and Vivian, nee Henderson, Schuler; he married the
7 former Dorothy R. Hayes on August 17, 1968, in Longview, Texas;
8 and
 
9     WHEREAS, Mr. Schuler had the distinction of being one of
10 the youngest agents ever inducted into the FBI; he joined the
11 bureau at age 18 and spent four years as a clerk in the
12 headquarters office in Washington, D.C., while getting a degree
13 at Southeastern University; he then became an agent for one
14 year in Philadelphia, before being assigned to the Alton office
15 in 1970; in 1975 he was named senior resident agent of the
16 Alton office and remained there until that office closed; he
17 then moved to the Fairview Heights bureau office, where he
18 stayed until he retired in 2000, after a 35-year career; and
 
19     WHEREAS, He was a member of the Society of Former Special
20 Agents of the FBI, the First United Methodist Church,
21 Jerseyville, and the Gideon Society; he enjoyed gardening and
22 golfing as a member of Lockhaven Country Club; and
 
23     WHEREAS, The passing of Robert Dale Schuler has been deeply
24 felt by many, especially his wife, Dot; his daughter and
25 son-in-law, Christy and Keith Bryant, his twin grandsons,
26 Austin Robert and Riley Jackson Bryant; his daughter, Amy
27 Schuler; his brother, Larry Schuler; his mother, Vivian
28 Schuler; and his mother-in-law, Violet Hayes; he was preceded
29 in death by his father, Robert L. Schuler, and his
30 father-in-law, Raymond L. Hayes; therefore, be it

1     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
2 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3 Robert Dale Schuler, and we extend our sincere condolences to
4 his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
5 further
 
6     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7 presented to his family as an expression of our deepest
8 sympathy.
