SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with regret of the death of Edna Earl Scott-Brown of
4 Waukegan on May 6, 2006; and
 
5     WHEREAS, She was born on November 10, 1939, to Ethel Mannon
6 Kendrick and Edward William Scott of Belzoni, Mississippi; she
7 gave her life to Christ at a very early age and was truly
8 blessed and anointed with a divine gift from God; and
 
9     WHEREAS, She was a homemaker and caregiver for many years;
10 she served as the music director at the Shiloh Missionary
11 Baptist Church in Waukegan, worked with the Baptist Youth
12 Fellowship, and was the Directress of Music at the First
13 Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church for almost 50 years; and
 
14     WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents, Ethel
15 and Ed Scott; her husband, Bob Brown; her sisters, Viola
16 Powell, Marion Anderson, and Earline Harris; her brother,
17 George Scott; other brothers and sisters; nieces and nephews;
18 and cousins; and
 
19     WHEREAS, The passing of Edna Earl Scott-Brown has been
20 deeply felt by many, especially her daughter, Tanya (Tammy)
21 Brown; her sons, Kenneth (Donna) Brown and Randy Brown; her
22 step-children, Robert Jr., Shirley, Jean, and Alberta; her
23 sisters, Mrs. Martha E. Woods and Mrs. Ollie Walker; her
24 brothers, Taylor Scott and Charles (Louise) Scott; her foster
25 children, Dominique, Marcus, Lenora, and Tommie; her
26 godchildren, Rayanne, Daryl, Charletta, and Katie; her
27 grandchildren, Kim (Tot), Kari, Kiara, Joiya, Nikki, T'Dara
28 (Patrick), Lawrence, Shadonna, Torren, Alexandria, Jeffrey,
29 and Gordon; her great-grandchildren, Syncere and Synai; her
30 godmother, Mrs. Pearl Long; her musical children, Sondra Thomas
31 and Master Malcolm Williams; her two special friends; and her

1 many other relatives and dear friends; therefore, be it
 
2     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
3 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
4 Edna Earl Scott-Brown, and we extend our sincere condolences to
5 her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
6 further
 
7     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8 presented to her family as an expression of our deepest
9 sympathy.
