SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois learned with sadness of the death of Leonard J. "Len" Kuskowski of Tower Lakes on June 10, 2006; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Kuskowski was born on April 10, 1932, in Syosset, Long Island, New York, to Leonard and Stella (nee Ostafski) Kuskowski; he married Carol Ann Carbery on December 28, 1957, in Farmingdale, Long Island, New York; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Kuskowski graduated from Manhattan College with a degree in electrical engineering in 1954; he worked as an electrical engineer for A.I.L. in Mineola, New York, for 34 years and then for Northrup Grumman in Rolling Meadows, where he retired in 1997; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Kuskowski served the Village of Tower Lakes as Trustee from 1995 to 2000 and as President from 2000 to 2006, managing the business affairs of the community; during the last several years, he continued his selfless volunteering in spite of his battle with terminal illness; he also served a term as President of the Barrington Area Council of Governments (BACOG); and

WHEREAS, Mr. Kuskowski served in the United States Marine Corps Reserves and was a member of St. Anne Church; his lifelong passions were playing tennis and golf and spending time with his family; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Leonard J. "Len" Kuskowski is deeply felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his wife, Carol Ann (nee Carbery); his children, Barbara (Bill) Cordts, Janet (David) Blake, Leonard J. Jr. (Anne) Kuskowski, Mary (Tony) Magro, and John Kuskowski; his grandchildren, Billy, Brian, James, and Tommy Cordts, Jacqueline, Steven, and Alexander Blake, and A.J., Julie, and Gina Magro; and his many nieces and nephews; he was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Cele, Lee, and Florence; and his brother, Zigmond Kuskowski; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Leonard J. "Len" Kuskowski, and we extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That suitable copy of this resolution be presented to his family as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
