SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Nicholas D. Romas, of Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on October 26, 2006; and

WHEREAS, Nicholas D. Romas was born March 13, 1933 in Nestani, Greece, and was very proud of his Greek heritage; and

WHEREAS, Nicholas D. Romas was a kind and compassionate man, virtuous of character and gentle in spirit, admired and respected by his many friends and neighbors, and dearly loved by his family; and

WHEREAS, Nicholas D. Romas was the beloved husband of Kathy (nee Lalagos); the loving father of Elaine (William) Rackos, Matina (Sotiris) Kolokotronis, Jeannie (Joseph) Dunn, and Jamie Romas; the proud grandfather of John Basil Rackos, Constantine Angelo, Marisa Elena and Nicholas Romas Kolokotronis, and Joey and Jack Dunn; the dear brother of Vasso (the late Savvas) Kounas, Tasia (Nicholas) Papadakis, Sam (Anny) Romas, Paraskevi (Kostas) Kordopitoulas, Dena (George) Zarkos, the late Kostas (Koletta) Roumeliotis, Petros (Demetra) Romas, Anastasios (Maria) Roumeliotis, and George (Sophia) Romas; and the uncle and friend of many; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Nicholas D. Romas; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Nicholas D. Romas.
