HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Ivy Hall Elementary School in Buffalo Grove on being designated a 2019 National Blue Ribbon School by the United States Department of Education; and

WHEREAS, The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program recognizes public and private elementary, middle, and high schools where students perform at very high levels or where significant improvements are being made in student academic achievement; and

WHEREAS, Ivy Hall Elementary School previously received this honor in 2008 and is one of only 312 public schools in the nation receiving this designation in 2019; and

WHEREAS, Ivy Hall Elementary School has thrived under the leadership of Superintendent Julie Schmidt, Principal Robert Hanrahan, and District 96 School Board Members Mike Burns, Renee Klass, Dina Manka, James Strezewski, Marc Tepper, Meg Woodman, and Cynthia Zarkowsky; and

WHEREAS, Ivy Hall Elementary School is recognized with this distinct honor because of its highly successful professional learning community and its status as an integral part of the District 96 special education programming; and

WHEREAS, The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program also recognized Ivy Hall Elementary School's student access to technology, modern facilities, target-aligned individualized learning, highly trained teachers, researched-based practices, social and emotional learning, and the commitment to include all of its students; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Ivy Hall Elementary School on being designated a 2019 National Blue Ribbon School, and we wish the faculty, staff, and administration many more years of success and service to the children and families of the community; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Ivy Hall Elementary School as an expression of our esteem and respect.
