HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Hagen's Fish Market on the occasion of its 75th anniversary; and

WHEREAS, Hagen's Fish Market was founded in 1946 when the two Hagen brothers and their wives opened the market with the assistance of seed money from their fisherman father; and

WHEREAS, The Hagen family dedicated long hours to establishing a business that would grow along with the burgeoning Jefferson Park and Portage Park Neighborhoods; and

WHEREAS, Renowned for its quality and family-friendly approach, the second generation of the Hagen family expanded the selection of fish at the market by securing fresh fish directly from the East Coast several times a week; and

WHEREAS, In addition, the Hagen family developed delicious new recipes that have become community favorites, such as Charlene's Crab Dip; and

WHEREAS, Hagen's Fish Market delivers a unique taste experience for its customers by still operating one of the last surviving natural wood smokehouses in Chicago; and

WHEREAS, Today, two Hagen granddaughters and their husbands continue the family tradition of delivering fresh, quality meals to the residents of Chicago; and

WHEREAS, Hagen's Fish Market remains a staple of the Jefferson Park and Portage Park Neighborhoods and a testament to the value of quality, family-owned businesses; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Hagen's Fish Market on its 75th anniversary, thank the Hagen family for their work in the community, and wish them many more successful years; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Hagen's Fish Market as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
